Information about driving instructors
If you are paying someone to teach you to drive, they must be approved and registered with the Driving Standards Agency (DSA). Only a registered approved driving instructor (ADI) can charge money for teaching you to drive.
All instructors must go through the tough challenge of proving to the DSA that they are able to teach to the highest Standards.
All Instructors must go through 3 Stages:
Stage 1: An Advanced Theory Test.Stage 2: A high Standard Driving Test.Stage 3: The ability to Instruct Test.
There are two types of badges. One of them MUST be displayed in the front window screen of the instructors car if they are to charge you for their services:
Pink Green (Trainee Badge) (Fully Qualified)
Please check that your instructor has one of these badges displayed.
If in doubt look at the licence and check the photo matches the instructor.
There are lots of bogus driving instructors out there, claiming to do lessons nearly half the average price, these are normally the bogus ones, normally they are not insured nor are they legally approved.
